RECAP: Vergil Ortiz Jr. vs Antonio Orozco weigh-ins

Neither main event fighter had trouble making the contracted welterweight limit

for Saturdays all action bout featuring hometown kid Vergil Ortiz Jr. and Antonio

Orozco at the weigh ins today. The fight takes place at The Theatre in Grand

Prairie Saturday August 10 th streamed only on DAZN.

Vergil Ortiz Jr. weighed in right at the 147lb limit. This marks his second fight in

the welterweight ranks after moving up from the 140lb division. His opponent,

Antonio “Relentless” Orozco came in comfortably at 146.75.

The Co-main event is a trilogy to settle it once and for all between Oscar Negrete

(18-2-1) and San Antonios Joshua “El Profesor” Franco (15-1-1). Their 10 round

bout takes place in the bantamweight division. Oscar Negrete weighed in at 117.5

lbs while Franco needed extra time to stay under the limit. Eventually coming in at

118.25.
