Claressa Shields makes boxing history !!!

Boxing history was made last night on Showtime as Claressa Shields became the fastest boxer, male or female to win championship belts in three weight divisions. She accomplished that feat in only her 10th pro fight. Beating out Lomachenko and Kosei Tanaka who did it in 12. What makes the feat more impressive is the fact she is going backwards in weight. People normally go up, but she instead continues to climb down.

Claressa Shields dominated Ivana Hazabin for 10 rounds. Shields scored a knockdown in the 6th round. All 3 judges had it by a wide margin. 100-89, 99-89 and 100-90. Near shutouts.

Olympic gold medalist Claressa Shields improves to 10-0 with 2 knockouts, winning the vacant 154 WBC/WBO titles. Adding them to her already full cabinet of titles. She has championship belts at 168 and is the undisputed middleweight Queen owning all the belts at 160 pounds.

It was good to finally see this fight as it was postponed twice. The first due to shields injuring her knee in camp, the second because of the nasty incident that happened at the weigh-ins where Habazin’s trainer was suckered punched and ultimately needed facial surgery. Shields brother, Artis Mack was charged for the assault. So this fight had some legit bad blood going in.

Claressa dominated Habazin as she makes her claim to become one of the greatest women boxers ever! Claressa gets tons of hate from the boxing world. Some of it justified but most of it unfair. The incident at the weigh in is hard to defend and hopefully she now has that under control but other than that Claressa is just marketing herself, no different than her male counterparts. She’s extremely confident, brash and very passionate just like say the Charlo twins. Who are not nearly as accomplished as Shields? My advice to Shields, is keep doing what you are doing. If the boxing community wants to label you a heel, fuck it!

Embrace it! Roll with it! The more people tune in and want to see you lose the better it will make you financially. Just ask another Flint Michigan native in Floyd Mayweather how that worked out for him.
